Four Eyes and Bucket Head

She's Crafty

So with preschool being out for the next three weeks we have been a
little creative around here. The kids and I have been making crafty
things, as shown below. The kids love it and it has kept them so busy
which I of course love.

Total side note, but I went to Joanns to look for a few crafty ideas
for the kids and it was a little scary to say the least. I don't mean
to bag on others creative sensiablity but come on. The toll paintings
were already pre-painted, and they had way too many other brainless
activities that were already half done for the child. What happened to
good old macaroni and glitter people?

Josh spelling hat

Josh went up to the white board and wrote out cat and hat all by
himself. He started with cat and hat and then I asked him if he could
spell dog and bog. I sounded them out for him, but he did the spelling
on his own. I'm so proud of him!

Elliott is Huge

I hopped on the scale with Elliott last night and his is weighing in at 19.12 lbs. To give you an idea of just how big that is, Andrew his cousin is about nine months (eight or nine) and he weights 22 lbs. No wonder I have a pinched nerve in my right shoulder, it's from lugging this little moose around. Regardless of any injuries he might unknowingly inflict, he is the sweetest baby. He sleeps about eleven or twelve hours every night and is so happy all the time. We are so glad he is our little moose.

Discovery Park

On Friday the Twins got to take a field trip to Discovery Park in Pleasant Grove with their Preschool*. The kids were thrilled, we have never been there before and it was amazing. It reminded me of Howarth Park back home in Santa Rosa with all of the wooden structures and fun things to, well discover.

The Twins and their new friends found all kinds of things to do, swinging, sliding, riding on the tire swing, a volcano, a rocket ship and following the dinosaur tracks all over the park. They were both particularly sad that they didn't find any dinosaurs. However, they had a great time with their class and we will have to visit the park a few more times before the weather turns too cold.

It was also fun to see how the Twins reacted to having free reign over such a big park. Josh was gone the second we got out of the car whereas Jane wanted me to be with her until she felt comfortable on her own.

New Toy

Elliott has a new toy, one of those whirley tops that he can sit in
and play to his little hearts content. He had a look of deep
concentration when we popped him in. I don't think he has ever
encountered anything this "busy" before.
