Elliott Milton Jones
Elliott Milton Jones was born on May 22nd 2009 at 10:40 pm Mountain Time. He weighed in at an even 10 pounds and is 21 inches long. Everything went really well. Elliott and Camille are both doing great.
We got home from the hospital Sunday evening. Josh and Jane absolutely adore their new little brother. They can't get enough of him.

Jane's Story
Kgördee is putting the kids down tonight and as he is rocking them he
tells them a story and they tell him a story.
tells them a story and they tell him a story.
Jane's story was very interesting tonight. Part way through her story,
as I am lying on our bed next to them, I hear, "And mom said,'What the
hell are the witches doing?'"
Kgördee and I were trying not to laugh so hard that it was a few
minutes before we could even stop her story and kindly talk to her
about not using that word. Judge me if you will but it's been a harsh
few days.

Person of the Year 2009
We have been wanting to upgrade our backyard playset for a while now. As much as I have wanted one of the big wooden Rainbow brand play sets, I have had no desire whatsoever to have anything to do with the assembly process. The local Rainbow dealer was having a free installation special but even with the "free" installation, the total price tag was about double the cost of the exact same play set at Costco. Of course the Costco option did not include installation. So somehow we struck a deal with our good friend Chaz to help us out. He has incredible skills and a heart of gold! Here is the story in pictures...
Before
At Costco
An overwhelming amount of parts
The assembly begins
A couple of Radio Flyer trikes help to move the initial frame off the patio and over to the actual spot in the yard
Almost there
Hooray!!! The kids are all over it and having a blast!
After
38 Weeks
We went on a little walk/ride today around the neighborhood. I love that Josh remembered their helmets before we left the house as I had not. That must be the Grandpa Holmes in him.
The twins can really haul on their bikes now so I had to keep telling them to stop so I could catch up.
On the way back we stopped at the abandoned lot (okay, not so abandoned, it just sounds better than an empty lot in a fancy cluster of homes that has not been developed due to the nose dive the housing market has taken, whatever) that is completely over grown with weeds and played on the little mound of dirt there.
Good times.
