I bought this fabric (Far Far Away 2 by Heather Ross) at The Purl Soho two years ago. Last month Scott and I dropped by again and I picked up fabric for Boodle's big boy bed. Since Jane's quilt has been thus far almost two years in the making I dragged it out a few days ago for some work.
I finally have the top pieced together which ended up being a huge pain in my can. I love the way this quilt top turned out but it was A LOT of work. I don't really make fancy quilts because that's not the point, the fact that I made it is the reason my kids will love it. They darn well better love them. Blood, sweat and tears!
Mostly I need to finish his so A) Jane will have a snugly quilt from mom before she grows out of Princesses 2) I want to start on Boodles Quilt and D) I need to not feel guilty about the big wad of fabric that has been Jane's half finished quilt for the last 22 months every time I open my crafty closet.
Tomorrow night I'll get to learn how to use a walking foot at my "get to know your new sewing machine" class and hopefully finish the rest of the quilt in the next few weeks.

Projects like that just gnaw away at us don't they? Absolutely beautiful though. I am excited to see it all finished.
