Work in Progress

I am so excited about this latest sweater, as you can see it is so
tiny. I haven't found a book to get in the way of my knitting so I
just keep making little sweaters.
I really do need a book though, so if you have read something truly
amazing, please let me know.

A Conversation with Josh

Me: Josh what do you want to be when you grow up?

Josh: A daddy.

Me: What are you going to do when you are a daddy?

Josh: Hold the baby and feed it and put it to bed.

Me: Where does the baby come from?

Josh: Mommies tummy.

Me: What will the baby do when when he comes out?

Josh: He can't come out, there aren't any holes?

Me: Mmm.

Josh: Is the baby hiding?

Me: Yes, he is playing one long game of hide and go seek.

Let the Great Experiment begin

We are trying to potty train Josh and thus far it is going well. We have armed our selves as many parents have before us with bribes and ridiculous reactions for bodily functions. With Jane we only had to offer chocolate chips and she was on the toilet doing her thing, with Josh we have had to be a little bit craftier.

Josh has more expensive tastes, he likes The Lego's and let me tell you The Lego's are not cheap. Josh is just over three and a half and knows how to use the bathroom though a little hesitant to do any "heavy lifting" on the throne. He has been completely uninterested in using the fecilities up until now. It might have had something to do with the Spider man and Batman underwear that I brought home, but he seems willing to give it a whirl.

Since we bought the twins their first set of Lego's at Christmas Josh has spent hours and hours playing with them. Mostly Jane just sorts them and gathers like pieces together and makes us guess what she has in her hand.

So for every day that Josh is "dry" we give him a very small Lego set. He has had a few accidents along the way, but he has yet to do more then pee his pants. He does however have a very hard time with the whole wiping thing, though he puts in a good effort, bless his heart. If I am not in the bathroom the second he is finished he can be found trying to get the poop off his hands and onto the toilet paper while it is still on the roll.

We have a long way to go, but I have confidence in the little dude that he will figure it out. We will keep you posted.

Andew's new sweater

This is my tiny little nephew Andrew's new sweater. It was so fun to make and so fast because it is so little. I am in love with this pattern and I can't wait to start on another one.

All tuckered out

These pictures are from just before Christmas. We had so many things going on we often would get home late and Josh would fall asleep before we could put him to bed. I love that his finger ends up in his nose. Nice.

Snow Time

The kids love the snow, though Jane mostly eats it and Josh just throws it at Jane. This was after a big snow fall and the kids had fun tromping through it.

Elliot's new sweater

So this is my first completed pull over and I'm pretty happy with it. The neck is a little wide but otherwise I think it will do. We received a sweet little sweater in the mail from a fellow knitter and that is what inspired this. It was surprisingly fast to make, I think it took me three days. Though that was about all I did do.

I had to take a break on my pregnancy poncho because I busted one of my needles and I don't have the right glue to fix it yet. Now I'm excited for all of the other things I want to make Elliot, babies are so cute in knitted stuff.

I know the sweater looks a little weird on the rabbit but it was the closest thing I had to a baby and I wanted to try it on something. I did try it on Josh and suddenly Chris Farly singing "fat guy in a little coat" came drifting into my mind.

I guess you can see that green has been a thing lately, but I can't really help it. I have to knit with whatever yarn works for the project and I just happen to buy a lot of green. Oh well.

More Poncho Action

Here is a sneak peek at my poncho in progress. I'm hoping to have it
done in time for this winter, but we shall see. As I am typing this
Elliot is kicking so maybe he wants me to finish it too.

Meet Andrew

This is my new little nephew Andrew, he was born on Friday. I've got
to hold him twice and he is so sweet.

I can't believe we are going to be doing this again in just four
months. Oh, BTW we are having a boy too, Elliot. First of all I'm
scared, how am I going to fend off Josh and Jane, he doesn't stand a
chance with those two around. And secondly I hear babies are quite the
time suck so when am I going to find time to facebook and re-read
twilight??

For right now I am so happy for my brother and his family. Good thing
I still have four more months until I'm out numbered.
