Yes, I know that this is the least of your concerns.

This is what I've been doing all day, yes it took me the better part of the day. I needed a new diaper bag* for Elliott and for some reason I had the motivation to work on it, so I went with it. I really like how it turned out, it's bigger than the one I had for the twins which is nice because that one was too small for one baby, let alone two.

I like the pockets and the loops I put on the inside for my keys, phone, wipes and sundries, however the outside pockets are giving me trouble. I was supposed to sew them on before I put the bag together and as always I forgot. Now that I have to sew them on by hand I'm wondering if they will be worth the trouble. I've attached one pocket with pins (as you can see in the last picture) to see how it looks and if it is a go, I will sew the other one on the opposite side.

So I'm trying to decide if the diaper bag looks to clunky with the outside pockets or if I should just forget form and go with function. As for function, these pockets will be great for bottles or whatnot's with the elastic on the top to hold everything in.

So, outside pockets, or not so much? What do you think?

*Emilie showed me how to make these bags a few years ago and now she sells them too!

I absolutely love that diaper bag! Personally, I prefer the sleek look without the pocket, but I can see how it would be convenient.

I sewed a pocket on last night and the reasons it didn't work were three fold.
A)I'm just not that talented with a needle.
2)It really does make the bag look clunky.
And D)It was too much work with the first one, I'd have to do it again with the second pocket, lame.

I have a PDF of the pattern, if you want it let me know.
